A short drive towards Brecon would put you at the starting point for an ascent of Pen-y-Fan. At 2,970 ft this is the highest peak in South Wales, the views and features and astonishing. Head west on the M50, where the M50 ends at junction 4 take the first exit at the roundabout heading onto A449 towards, Ross-on-Wye MonmouthA40. At the next roundabout take the third exit onto A40 heading to MonmouthHerefordA49Wilton (go through two roundabouts entering Wales). Exit onto A40 toward Abergavenny, (go through 1 roundabout) and at the second roundabout take the second exit onto Heads of the Valley Rd A465, then take the left exit heading towards Merthyr Road and then a the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Merthyr Rd A4143. Continue on this road passing over two roundabouts, at the third roundabout take the first exit onto Brecon RdA40. Continue on this road for around 5 miles, upon entering Blairgowrie take a left onto High Street and Dragon Inn is located on the right.
